Kung Fu Punctuation Cards

We use Kung-Fu to help our learning in writing stick. Our children learn the actions and sound effects for each different pieces of punctuation and use this to help them plan their writing in their heads and verbally before they write their ideas down.

By the time children leave our school, they need to be able to write quickly, legibly, neatly and comfortably.

When we introduce letter formation in Reception, we use large visual images and a verbal description to help each child remember the movements necessary to form letters. Once a child can confidently form their letters, they begin to join them (this often takes place at the start of Key Stage 2).
