The children read many traditional folktales, they studied in detail Johnny the Lancashire Giant, they used drama techniques to recreate the story and at the end of the unit they wrote their own folktales based on the plot of Johnny the Lancashire Giant,

Biographies

After researching the features and purpose of biographies the children chose a person who inspires them and wrote their own biographies.

The Iron Man

The children are reading and analysing the Story by Ted Hughes ‘The Iron Man’. The will create their own stories based on the plot structure from the book using their own new character.
