Positive Valentine Pebbles

Have you found any of our positive pebbles which have been placed around the public footpaths of Calder Vale? We have been out walking today leaving bright and positive messages and images on pebbles to make people smile and feel loved in the run up to Valentine's Day. Hopefully, anyone who finds one will send us a positive message on our Facebook page to make us smile back! Look at our photos below for clues as to where they have been placed.

Looking out for our local community

During the lockdown, we have written letters to members of our local community who might be feeling lonely and to patients in Lancaster Royal Infirmary. Our hope is that our letters have made people smile and judging by the amazing responses, it has worked!

We have even made it onto BBC Radio Lancashire,https://www.facebook.com/groups/1121959164580675/permalink/3454917064618195/.

We may be a small school but we can make a huge difference.

Our Jewish Zoom Call

We had a fascinating Zoom meeting with an expert in Judaism. She took us on a virtual tour of the Torah scroll and how it is cared for and stored. We all learnt about how the Torah was written and made our own class Torah scroll telling the stories of creation and Noah's Ark. It was huge and took 6 pupils to hold it up when we had finished it!

We have become famous!

In English, we wrote persuasive letters to support the campaign to keep our community swimming pool open. Our local newspaper was so impressed, they published some of our letters and came to take our photos and we even got a letter from The House of Commons!
