Our Curriculum

Our EYFS Curriculum is organised into the 7 areas of learning. The three prime areas- Commmunication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development and Physical Development are Prime Areas and underpin all of our learning.

Mathematics, Understanding the World, Literacy and Expressive Art and Design are Specific Areas which are planned and delivered through a combination of adult led and child led experiences.

Our enabling environment, positive relationships, personalised learning and quality interactions ensure that all children make fantastic progress from their starting points. Learning is fun and linked to children's interests.

Key knowledge and skills are carefully mapped out to ensure that children experience a diverse and bespoke curriculum.

Characteristics of Effective Learning underpin all learning and are continually modelled, scaffolded and praised.

EYFS Long Term Plan

Children can join EYFS from the term that they turn three. Our bespoke curriculum trackers are used to personalise our curriculum and interactions for each child. They enable our staff team ensure that every child thrives and reaches their potential in a calm and nurturing learning environment.

Please see below our trackers for each area of learning within EYFS.

Staff within our EYFS team use the ShREC approach when interacting with children. We recognise the huge importance of quality interactions in Continuous Provision and the value of children's play when learning. We recognise that children are most motivated when playing and their play presents endless learning opportunities with a sensitive and personalised interaction. Click below to see how much learning can take place within provision!

Our KS1 Curriculum is organised into weekly blocks, connecting our learning in Foundation Subjects with English where appropriate. We also connect our learning with EYFS themes- our KS1 children use continuous provision inside and outside to apply their knowledge and understanding in a playful way. Not only is this super engaging for the children but they also use higher order thinking skills to complete the challenges.

R.E,  PSHE and P.E are taught weekly.
