Friday 23rd October

There are lots of thank yous to say this week!

It was lovely to see so many of you at our Harvest Service this week - thank you for coming to share it with us. We are SO grateful to everyone for their wonderful generosity - your donations to St. Thomas's foodbank will be collected very soon and will make a huge difference to those who receive them. The School Association also deserve our thanks, especially Harry's Mum, for creating our Pumpkin Hunt in the forest. The children had such a lovely time and the rain stopped just for us! Finally, we are very thankful to Mrs. Harwood and Mrs. Taylor who have looked after Willow Class for us this week - the children have been very resilient and we know Mrs. Cole is very proud of them.

WILLOW CLASS - What a busy and exciting time we have had in Willow Class! We have been learning some fantastic new reading skills with Mrs Harwood and putting our teamwork to the test with some brilliant games in PE. In Art, we took part in a very exciting competition where we had to use our creativity to draw a tower of items to help us escape from a castle. We all had great fun and were delighted to receive a cute squishy prize each! In Geography, we looked at different settlements in the Americas. With Mrs Taylor, we have been learning French, and we absolutely LOVE the numbers song – it is definitely a class favourite! In Computing, we have been developing our desktop publishing skills to create our very own interest pages, showing off our creativity and digital skills. Meanwhile, in Maths, we have been busy solving tricky problems to crack secret codes, putting our problem-solving skills to the test.

Bluebell Class - Bluebells really enjoyed pumpkin picking this week. Thank you so much to the school association for organising and setting it up for us. This week we have been revisiting our learning from this half term. Key stage one have shown off what they could remember about different animal groupings including what they eat as well as the countries and capital cities of the UK and the continents and oceans of the world. We looked back at the artist Andy Goldsworthy and practised our drawing skills of natural objects and patterns using his art work for inspiration. I was really proud of Bluebells for standing up and singing in the Harvest worship. They tried hard with their singing and their makaton signs.

BLUEBELL CLASS - All of Bluebell class for their excellent performance in the harvest worship!

WILLOW CLASS - Ezra for putting 100% into everything he does and shining like a star in Geography!
