Mrs. Scholz says: I was lucky enough to go to the theatre with Willow Class this morning to see the 'Horrible Histories - Awful Egyptians' show. The children had an A-MA-ZING time - especially when they had to wear their 3D glasses in the second half. As always, their behaviour was exemplary and they took such good care of each other.

Natural and Relaxed Home Learning: Horrible Books Review

WILLOW CLASS - What a fantastic and action-packed week we have had in Willow Class! In English, we have been bringing the wonderful and wacky poems of Lewis Carroll to life through some brilliant performances, as well as developing our writing skills by using fronted adverbials to make our sentences even more interesting. On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to take part in a special RAF STEM workshop, where the children were challenged to complete an exciting Volcano Island mission. It was wonderful to see such fantastic teamwork, problem-solving and leadership skills in action – we certainly have some budding project commanders in Willow Class! To round off our fantastic week, the children are eagerly looking forward to a visit to Blackpool Grand Theatre today, where they will enjoy a performance of Awful Egyptians by Horrible Histories. We are sure it will be a wonderfully entertaining experience, bringing history to life through laughter, fun and fascinating facts!

Umami: The power of the fifth taste - Dutch Spices

Bluebell Class -This week, Bluebells have been busy with DT. We have chopped, sliced, grated, ribboned and even marinated vegetables to make kebabs and wraps. We were really sensible with our skills and it was nice trying something a little different. We linked our DT to our Science, where we were learning about if humans were mammals and then our senses. We learnt a new way to describe our taste - umami. In maths key stage 1 have been busy learning about length and capacity, using language to make comparisons. EYFS have been continuing to practise their number recognition and representing with different amounts. In English, we have been singing and learning playground rhymes. We have really enjoyed performing them to each other. Next week, key stage one will be innovating one of the rhymes to create their own.
