Friday 9th October

Everyone has been so impressed with the amazing entries for the School Association Autumn Crafts Competition. There are paintings, sculptures, collages. mobiles and even cakes! Thank you to everyone who has supported their children with this. All the visitors we've had at school this week have commented on how creative our children are!

We are saying a fond farewell to Miss. Bainbridge today, who is leaving us to go on maternity leave (don't worry, she has promised to come back!). We hope she is able to put her feet up for a week or two before her little girl arrives.

WILLOW CLASS - What a fantastic week of learning we have had in Willow Class! In English, we have been exploring The Jabberwocky, creating some wonderful infographics and developing our writing skills. In Geography, we have been comparing two fascinating biomes – the rainforest and the savannah – and discovering how plants and animals have adapted to survive in their different environments. In Science, we have been busy classifying living things and learning how to use classification keys. During RE, we have been exploring Hinduism and learning about different Hindu deities. In PE, we have enjoyed mindful yoga sessions alongside fun teamwork activities, developing our cooperation and communication skills. A special well done goes to our Year 3 and 4 footballers, who represented our school at GCA yesterday in a football tournament! They demonstrated fantastic teamwork, determination and resilience throughout. We are incredibly proud of every single one of them! What a brilliant week, Willow Class!

Bluebell Class - We have been working hard again this week in Bluebell class, continuing with our Goldilocks and the 3 Bears story in EYFS, innovating the story to change bears to other animals. Key stage one have written some independent fiction texts about an animal, linking in our science and geography learning by including facts about the continent they are from and the animal grouping they are. We have recorded some of our work for dojo....we hope you enjoy them. In science, we have continued our learning about animals by learning about the 3 groupings based on what animals eat - ask us if we can identify a carnivore, a omnivore or a herbivore! Our topic work this week has been computing, we have been sorting and grouping and have practised logging into the chrome books and using the mouse pad to drag and drop. We are all working really hard on our fundamental movement skills in PE, practising throwing and catching.

BLUEBELL CLASS -  Sofia is our Lead Learner for being such a busy bee with her numbers, adding and subtracting from groups of objects.

WILLOW CLASS - Alfie for his fabulous sentences in English this week.
